I'm also a sucker for modern-day versions of Shakespeare, but I think Coriolanus is one that would have been better suited to the style of adaptation that doesn't use the play's dialogue. Some films pull off that version of adaption, but others do not.

I too was vaguely familiar with the original story but not the play version, which probably doesn't help.

I like how many Fassbender films you have here. He's pretty good. He was my second-favorite thing about Prometheus.. after Idris Elba.

Yeah, I had that thought as well early on - might have been spot-on as a well-crafted adaptation of the story but not a performance of the play as written.
