Lately I've been listening to the audiobook of The NeverEnding Story* as I fall asleep, and I'm in the 2nd half, where Bastian becomes a jerk, but this story reminds me of the bit I heard creates a library for (and also creates/reveals the history of) the people of the Silver City. Everything is both brand-new and has always been, once he tells the tale.**
And I would have hoped Moses would be in the weird temporal-flux mindset I seem to have in dreams.
*read it as a kid, revisiting it as a fairy tale told to me as I fall asleep...apparently I've always loved metafiction.
Robert Heinlein proposed the same idea in "The Number Of The Beast", where `fabulists´ forked the multiverse by the act of creating their stories, and what was fiction in Universe A was the history and current events of Universe B.
